Description

What makes the system different and what tasks it is typically chosen for.

Linolit_HB is a two-component hydrophobizing compound for final protection of all types of concrete substrates, as well as cement- and polymer-cement–based coatings. It penetrates deeply into the cement paste and mineral aggregates, ensuring long-lasting water repellency of the coating.

Why does concrete deteriorate outdoors?

The primary cause is carbon dioxide, as well as other acids (reaction products of sulfur and nitrogen oxides) present in precipitation. By hydrophobizing the surface, Linolit_HB prevents the acidic environment from reacting with calcium hydroxide (the product of cement hydration), thereby protecting the concrete.

Key properties of the Linolit_HB concrete hydrophobizing agent

  • imparts water-repellent properties to both new and existing concrete;
  • fully protects the concrete surface from the destructive effects of aqueous salt and acid solutions; shields against weathering, including acid rain;
  • shields against weathering, including acid rain;
  • extends service life while reducing maintenance and repair costs;
  • provides a high degree of de-dusting;
  • increases abrasion resistance by more than 5 times.

Application

Apply Linolit_HB to a concrete surface cleaned of dirt, laitance, oil stains, etc. Application is performed with a mop or a hand sprayer. Application temperature: from +5 °C to +30 °C.

Material consumption

Total consumption is 0,1–0,8 L/m² (in 1 or 2 layers), depending on concrete grade and porosity. After application, the surface should appear uniformly wet with no dry spots or puddling. Allow 4 – 8 hours (depending on substrate and ambient temperature), after which foot traffic is permitted.
