Description

What makes the system different and what tasks it is typically chosen for.

Microbeton® is a polymer-modified, cement-based coating. The material reproduces coatings on horizontal and vertical surfaces that imitate concrete. Suitable for interiors in loft, high-tech, and other styles, diverse applications — from homes and offices to commercial spaces (workshops, showrooms, stores, boutiques, restaurants, cafés, etc.).

Features:

  • a material that enables a wide range of design concepts on any surface from horizontal to vertical: floors, walls, interior and decor elements;
  • seamless coating — allows creation of virtually unlimited seamless areas;
  • coating thickness no more than 3 mm;
  • excellent for textured surfaces, especially in lofts;
  • enables variations in texture, color, and inlays to achieve effects such as velvet, matte, glossy, or inserts of selected fractions;
  • the final result depends on the application technique; there are dozens of methods;
  • available in multiple colors; intensity depends on the product diluted in the polymer and on the type of microtopping;
  • resistant to climate changes, easy to clean, and quick to apply;
  • durable and wear-resistant; suitable for outdoor use and for heated floors indoors;
  • high performance: strong, moisture-resistant (can be used in bathrooms and washrooms).

The system consists of base and finish layers. It is applied over substrates such as concrete, drywall (gypsum board), stone, slate, wood, etc. Substrate preparation with a filled primer is required. To increase abrasion resistance and protect against dust, the coating may be sealed with multiple layers of a finish varnish (especially recommended for floors).

Average material consumption:

  • base layer — 1,3 - 1,7 kg/m²,
  • finish layer — 0,7 - 1,2 kg/m².

Technical characteristics:

  • strength development time — 28 days;
  • foot traffic — after 24 hours;
  • pull-off adhesion — 2,6 MPa;
  • abrasion resistance (BCA method, EN 13892-4) — AR0,5;
  • abrasion resistance (Taber method, H22 wheel, 1000 g, 1000 cycles) — 210 g.

Important: Laboratory tests assessed the product’s resistance to point mechanical impact from metal objects on the decorative concrete floor surface. It was found that small-diameter metal objects — including safes and shelving — can leave marks under point loading. This behavior under localized impact is typical of any decorative surface (including parquet, engineered wood, and linoleum).
