How we transformed a problematic concrete floor into a floor system resistant to washing and chemical exposure.

Task
- — Provide durable, dust-free flooring over about 260,000 m² for various tenant formats.
- — Withstand intensive loads from forklifts, stackers and racking with several residents operating simultaneously.
- — Minimise the number of joints and dust accumulation points to simplify cleaning and maintenance.
- — Ensure convenient phased commissioning of buildings without long downtimes.

Solution
- — At the concreting stage, industrial screeds with a hardened top layer using Wiron dry shake were laid in the main load zones.
- — In aisles and loading/unloading areas, systems based on Refloor ST-S200 with increased resistance to abrasive wear and wheel loads were used.
- — Technological cutting and sealing of joints was carried out, and structural separation of zones with potentially different operating conditions for different tenants was provided.
- — Particular attention was paid to base flatness and the quality of final surface finishing to facilitate equipment movement and operation of racking systems.
- — Cleaning and planned floor maintenance guidelines were prepared for the management company.

Result
- — A unified flooring system was obtained throughout the industrial park with predictable characteristics in terms of wear and ease of operation.
- — Costs for local repairs and bringing the floor up to the requirements of new residents when changing tenants have been reduced.
- — The floors do not dust, withstand regular cleaning well and retain a neat appearance even in the most heavily loaded areas.
- — Thanks to the pre-planned flooring system, the park can offer companies ready-made infrastructure without additional capital floor repairs when launching production.
