How we transformed a problematic concrete floor into a floor system resistant to washing and chemical exposure.

Task
- — Provide a strong, wear-resistant floor for high point loads from furniture legs, racks and equipment.
- — Eliminate dusting of the concrete base and simplify daily cleaning.
- — Maintain an even surface without steps and pronounced joints that interfere with rearranging furniture and moving trolleys.
- — Integrate the floor into the showroom style (brick walls, soft lighting, neutral furniture tones) so that it works as a background and does not draw attention to itself.

Solution
- — An industrial concrete floor system with a hardened top layer based on Refloor CT-S200 dry shake was used.
- — The base was prepared and levelled for the operation of trowelling machines to obtain a smooth surface.
- — The hardener was evenly applied to fresh concrete followed by mechanised trowelling to a dense finish surface.
- — Contraction joints were cut and filled to control cracking.
- — The surface was protected during strength gain and put into operation after reaching the design characteristics.

Result
- — A strong, even floor was obtained that withstands movement of heavy furniture, racks and intense visitor traffic.
- — The floor does not dust, is easy to clean and maintains a neat appearance even with frequent rearrangement of displays.
- — The grey concrete-like surface works as a neutral background that emphasises the furniture and décor rather than competing with them.
- — The client received a long-lasting solution without the need for frequent repairs and floor replacement, which reduces the showroom’s operating costs.
